ONLINE SACCO LOAN APPLICATION SYSTEM

Description

Problem statement

Whenever members are applying for loans, a challenge emerges whereby they have to present the loan forms and other collateral documents to the SACCO offices personally or use other means like postage or parcel delivery services which consumes their time and money. Sometimes, the loan forms never reach the offices on time thus delaying further the process of loan application. In case of emergencies, members cannot get immediate loans from the SACCO due to the above constraints. At the SACCO offices, there are many members in line waiting to be served and one has to wait even longer.

Solution and tools

Having studied the problems above, the researcher proposes to build an online loan application system where members can log in, apply for loans online, scan and send the collateral documents online and view their loan status. The proposed project will address the above challenges effectively saving time and money.  In order to accomplish the task of coming up with the system, the researcher has proposed to use Dreamweaver which provides a superb Integrated Development Environment. The back-end language of choice will be SQL. The researcher further proposes to use HTML, PHP and CSS languages for the front-end module.

How to Run

1. Download the source code and extract the zip file.
2. Download or set up any local web server that runs PHP script.
3. Open the web-server database and create a new database name it “sales”.
4. Import the SQL file located in the Root Path of the source code.
5. Copy and paste the source code to the location where your local web server accessing your local projects. Example for XAMPP(‘C:\xampp\htdocs’)
6. Open a web browser and browse the project. E.g [http://localhost/
7. Login details: Username: admin@unicounty.com   Pass: 12345
